Education: I did my under graduation from Burn Hall School Srinagar. Completed my graduation ( M.B.B.S) from Govt Medical College Srinagar & post graduation (MRCPsych) from Royal College of Psychiatry UK. My post graduate Psychiatric training was completed in various psychiatric hospitals of NHS in UK affiliated to Keele University.

Training/certification: I have been Certified by Secretary of State, UK to assess, give expert opinion & coordinate care of patients using the multi disciplinary approach under section (12 ) of Mental Health Act.

​I have received specific training in various sub specialties of psychiatry, including General Adult, Old Age, Forensic, Child and Adolescent, Rehabilitation, Drug & Alcohol, Neuropsychiatry, Eating Disorders and Perinatal Psychiatry over the past 10 years in UK.
 

Doctor's profile: I have special interest in Tran cultural psychiatry, spirituality, international psychiatry & psychology. I am actively involved in teaching and have written several books for MRCPsych exam. I am also interested in developing, implementing and monitoring service delivery in field of psychiatry and have contributed in improving service delivery in various psychiatric hospitals affiliated to South Staffordshire and Shorpshire NHS Trust which has been awarded the best mental health service provider by Royal College of Psychiatry in 2010.​
